WHY LINEN

Linen is made from the flax plant, a plant that can be grown in soil of almost any quality, and doesn't need any insecticides for protection.

While making linen, the entire flax plant is used, leaving nothing to be thrown away. Due to its plant-based nature, linen has special benefits over artificial fibers, such as a high level of biodegradability, and protection from moths. Linen is fully biodegradable and can be easily recycled, making it one of the most sustainable fabrics in the world.

Made to order Cocept

Our litte studio in Brooklyn is filled with rolls of fabric. All our linens are custom-made, which means we sew them just right after your order is placed. Rather than being stocked with a bunch of linen goods (which could be easily wasted if they would never be bought), we have chosen to produce low-scale and have an amazing team of dedicated seamstresses that work on your orders as they come in.  With this system, no product are wasted, because they get sent straight to you. This also means that at March6TEEN, there's no such thing as "out of stock" until we run out of fabric.

PRODUCTION SUSTAINABILITY

At March6TEEN with our own in-house production facility we have direct control over the production processes. For us, the main sustainability goal is minimizing our waste by repurposing most of the textile leftovers and using them to create smaller items.

After we cut fabric for our larger products, we organize all the linen scraps by size and color and store them away in a drawer. When we need fabric for our coasters, lavender sachets, or other smaller pieces, we use that fabric that was already stored instead of cutting new fabric.

We don't throw away our linen, no matter how biodegradable it is!

PACKAGING

Our packaging is made to be both pleasant and Earth-friendly. All of the elements in our packaging are made from recycled materials and can be reused or recycled. We first start the packaging process by pressing your item with steam to take out any wrinkles in the fabric. Then, we pack your item with a lavender sachet to keep it smelling fresh, and we add a linen care card to make maintenance straightforward.

We wrap those in twine to keep them together, and then put everything into a brown paper bag and compostable mailer (both made of recycled materials) to keep the products safe through transport while also not polluting the environment. Everything we do while packaging is done to keep our promise to sustainability while maximizing your pleasure while unpacking your product.
